Sponsorship

Greetings from the 2010 Doodlebug Golf Committee

The Doodlebug Golf Tournament began almost 60 years ago in 1953 and today is one of the premier social events of the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists. Each summer, members of the CSEG gather to determine not only who will reign as Mr. or Ms. Doodlebug for the current year, but who will take home the coveted ceramic for each flight. Participants in the Tournament are grouped in to flights of eight, where players go head to head in Match Play on day one and then determining each flights winner with Stroke Play on day two. Thus, the Tournament is competitive and fun for golfers of all levels and abilities.

This year there are some big changes in store for the tournament. The Doodlebug Golf Committee values the input from the CSEG membership and their associated companies. For this reason there is a new location and date for the 2010 Doodlebug.

58th Annual Doodlebug Golf Tournament   September 9-11, 2010

Kimberley Alpine Resort

Tournament play begins Friday morning. Thursday afternoon will have the Warm-up and Mixed rounds of golf, the Guests can golf 9 holes on Friday afternoon with other guest activities to be held on the Saturday. Opportunities to participate in these activities will be clearly outlined when registering for the main tournament.

Besides golf, social events are planned for each evening with the fabulous Theme Night on Saturday to round out the weekends’ festivities. Spouses and significant others are encouraged to attend and participate and families are more than welcome to partake of the facilities and activities at one of Canada’s leading destination spots, the Kimberley Alpine Resort.

This first class event is made possible because of the generous support of our Geophysical Industry Sponsors. Doodlebug Sponsors are continuously showcased throughout the Tournament from social events, signage, printed material, website recognition and unique opportunities for exposure throughout the days of the Tournament.

Our Sponsorship levels this year are Keynote, Diamond, Chairman, Platinum, Gold and Silver. For 2010, we have again opted to expand our levels to focus on the value for our Sponsors and recognizing that we are still experiencing an economic downturn throughout the Geophysical Industry. For a company wanting the highest profile at the 2010 Doodlebug, the Keynote Sponsor would be their selection. On the other end of the spectrum, for companies electing not to participate in the tournament, but are still looking for recognition at this event, we have again provided the Silver Level.

This year’s charity is the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The CBCF is the leading national volunteer-based organization in Canada dedicated to creating a future without breast cancer.
